Late Summer Skin Care: Changing your Routine

Woman washing faceNow that we are in the late summer days, it’s time to start thinking about changing up your skin care routine. Now your basic skin care routine can get you through all seasons, however, when you want that ultimate glow and to make sure your skin is in tip top health, it’s best to switch it up from time to time.

If you are using a cream based cleanser or one that is more on the milky side, it’s time to switch to a gel-based cleanser. Once the cold weather hits, milky and cream based cleansers are great for hydrating the skin and locking in that much needed moisture. However, in the heat and humidity of August and early to mid September these cleansers are way to heavy and could cause breakouts due to excess oils.

The same goes for your moisturizers too. Creams and heavy lotions add extra moisture to the skin during the late summer months and can clog your pores. Use a sunscreen lotion with SPF 15 or higher or a gel to protect against the sun and potential breakouts.

Start fresh before the new season with an awesome chemical peel or facial at Last Tangle Salon in Overland Park. Get that glow and some great skin care tips by visiting us today!
